Facebook is rolling out a new ad type, 'Event Response Ads', specifically designed for promoting events.

According to Facebook, there are around 400 million people are using Events on Facebook every month. And nearly 30% of all the events are created by Pages. And now, the social network made it’s easy to reach even more people for their events.

In the next few weeks, Facebook is rolling out a new ad type, ‘Event Response Ads’, specifically designed for promoting events. These ads can be placed in both mobile and desktop NewsFeeds. Previously, these types of ads were only shown in the right-hand column on desktop.

Here’s how the new event ad will look:

Page owners have two ways to create event ads: either by using the Ad Create tool, or the Power Editor.
Facebook also officially announced that it will display Insights for events, which we reported earlier this month. Insights are displayed in the right-hand column of the events page and show:
  • The number of people who’ve seen a link to the event on Facebook
  • The number of people who’ve viewed the event
  • The number of joins, saves and maybes the event has received

Facebook Event InsightsAt the end of the blog post, Facebook pointed out some pre-existing features which can be used to promote Events:

For Pages that often host events, the Events tab is a great way to share upcoming events in a single view. (If you don’t see the tab on your Page, click the More menu and reorder your tabs so Events is one of the first to appear.) People that visit a Page on mobile can also scroll through the Upcoming Events section to see the events a Page is hosting that week.
