Are you someone who tirelessly scrolls on Instagram and doesn’t realize how an hour flies by? Here’s some news for you!

Instagram has announced the launch of the ‘Take a Break’ feature in many countries including India. This feature allows users to choose when they can take a break from scrolling and also encourages them to engage in other activities.

The ‘Take a Break’ feature will be promoted on the app in association with We The Young through their #BreakZarooriHai campaign. This campaign focuses on the younger population and it aims to improve the Instagram experience for teenagers, their parents as well as guardians. It will last for one month and focus on highlighting the use of this feature.

During the campaign, We The Young India will work with creators and mental health experts and create content in more than eight regional languages to highlight the importance of making time spent on the application intentional.

Users can access this feature in the time management tools. With the option to set a daily limit, they can also mute notifications from Instagram after reaching that limit. Users will be given the option of setting a reminder after which they want to see the ‘Take A Break’ reminder.

Another plus of this feature is that it will display users with expert-backed tips aiding them to reflect and reset their Instagram usage. It was first launched in the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and now will be available to everyone globally. The feature will be available on iOS immediately and on Android in a few weeks.
