The GIF above displays what the feature will look like in your profile. Multiple users also pointed out on Twitter that the company has been working on this feature. Twitter user, Sajad Sergio Sadick, tweeted a week ago, “#Instagram will let users add a Facebook profile link, and anyone on Instagram will be able to see the link to their Facebook profile.”

Another Twitter user, Yash Joshi shared a video clip of how users can enable this feature on their profile. The video shows that users can tap on the edit profile button and then select the Links option. They can also choose whether they want to edit the link, remove it or keep a link as the primary option.

In 2020, the company rolled out Accounts Center which lets users manage their settings across apps. Users who link their accounts in Accounts Center, for example, can more easily share posts and stories between Facebook and Instagram. Facebook then enabled a feature that will allow users to post Instagram Stories and Reels to their Facebook profiles. Later, In October 2021, it started testing the feature in the other direction i.e. it was testing an update that allowed users to post their Facebook updates on their Instagram accounts. This feature relieved users from the pain of uploading the same content twice on both platforms.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram has constantly made efforts to link both the platforms so that users can access anything on them using one click. Keeping the platforms connected can also enhance the overall user experience.
