Mukesh Khanna is definitely not fond of The Kapil Sharma Show that airs on Sony Television and he has made it clear several times! But the audience doesn’t seem to understand the intensity with which Mr. Mukesh Khanna dislikes it.
In October 2020, actor Mukesh Khanna drafted an elaborate caption on Instagram in Hindi where he addressed the question that was going viral on the internet back then. The question was, ‘why was Mukesh Khanna not invited to The Kapil Sharma Show?’
To rewind a little more, after the show Mahabharat was aired on television again, during the COVID-19 lockdown, Mr. Kapil Sharma invited the star cast of Mahabharat on his family show. Mukesh Khanna played a very important role of Bheeshma Pitamah on Mahabharat back then and Mahabharat is without a doubt incomplete without his presence.
This is when this question started getting very popular and people naturally wondered whether Mukesh Khanna was not invited or he chose to not be a part of the show. Cut to, Mukesh Khanna, who clarified everyone’s thoughts. He mentioned in the Instagram post, “It is true that Mahabharat is incomplete without Bheeshma Pitamah. It is true that the question of whether I was invited or not doesn’t stand and it is also true that I refused to attend the show.” He also explained why he refused to attend the show and said that it is full of double meaning jokes and ‘fuhadpana‘.
In an exclusive interview with Sociobits, yet again, Mukesh Khanna expressed how displeased he is with The Kapil Sharma Show. When asked about how he created The Mukesh Khanna Show that he hosts on his YouTube channel Bheeshm International, he said, “There was a motive behind creating the show. I created it because I wanted to set it up against another TV show. That show featured obscenity and dialogues with ‘double-meaning’, I was also invited to that show but I refused to go.”
