What inspired you to start Trekscapers?

There are many factors that inspired me to start Trekscapers. I had a deep love for nature and the great outdoors and wanted to share my passion with others. Others may have a desire to create a business that promotes sustainable tourism and supports local communities in remote areas. For some, starting a Trekking company may be a way to turn their personal hobbies and interests into a career. They may have spent years exploring different regions of the world, and now want to share their expertise and experiences with others.

In general, starting a Trekking company can be an exciting and rewarding venture for those who are passionate about adventure, nature, and travel, and who want to offer unique and unforgettable experiences to their clients.

How do you ensure the safety of your customers while on treks?

We hire guides/mountaineer who are experienced, knowledgeable, and properly trained to handle emergency situations that may arise during a trek/adventure. We conduct thorough risk assessments of the routes and areas that we plan to trek through, and make appropriate adjustments to the itinerary as necessary.

Providing necessary safety equipment: We always provide all necessary safety equipment, such as helmets, ropes, and harnesses, and ensure that all equipment is in good working condition.

We set clear guidelines for trek participants regarding safety procedures and protocols, and make sure that everyone understands them before beginning the trek.

Our team closely monitor weather conditions and be prepared to make changes to the itinerary if necessary to ensure the safety of participants. We ensure that participants have access to clean drinking water and nutritious food throughout the trek.

We have a communication plan in place to stay in contact with participants and emergency services in case of an emergency. Overall, we ensure the safety of customers on trek by comprehensive approaches that involves thorough planning, qualified guides, appropriate safety equipment, clear guidelines and communication, and careful monitoring of weather and other conditions.

Some of the training that Trekking guides receive includes:

Travel and trekking activities can involve inherent risks, and as a founder I had a robust risk management plan in place to ensure the safety of my customers and staff. We rely heavily on customer satisfaction and positive reviews, and I prioritize exceptional customer service to build a loyal customer base.

Managing a team of guides, support staff, and administrative personnel requires strong leadership skills and effective communication, which I built throughout my journey. Running  trekking company, I learnt managing cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to ensure the sustainability and growth of the business.
