Facebook has pushed updates to its Messenger App on both Google Play and iTunes App Store bringing the ability to make free voice calls over WiFi and several other features.
The recent version of Facebook Messenger for Android brings features seen in the Facebook Messenger 4.0 app update for iOS released in the last week of March. The update includes the ability to create groups for those you message frequently and message forwarding feature.
Here’s the full change-log of Facebook Messenger for Android Version 4.0 highlighting new features in the latest update:
- Groups: Now you can create groups for the people you message most. Name them, set group photos and keep them all in one place
- Forwarding: Want to send a message or photo to someone who isn’t in the conversation? Just tap to forward it on
- Conversation Shortcuts: Create a shortcut so that you can get to any conversation right from your home screen
- Free Calls: Talk as long as you want and stay in touch wherever you are. (Calls are free over Wi-Fi. Otherwise, standard data charges apply).
Facebook has also brought an update to its Messenger App for iOS, upgrading to version 4.1. The update lets you make free calls over WiFI or mobile data with your Facebook friends.
The update is available now directly through Google Play and iTunes.
