Facebook Events got smarter, now it recommends events that you may be interested in, even if no one invited you, friends aren’t going, and you’ve never checked into the place, with new ‘Events for you‘ section. The new section is coming with a little bit visual redesign. (as first spotted by TechCrunch)
The redesign is still in testing phase right now, means it will be only available to selected users. This is the second time the social network is making changes to its Events feature, as AllFacebook reported, recently, Facebook had made a similar redesign to its individual Events page, but this time its on Events main page.
The revamped Events main page looks more cleaner and organized. According to Facebook help page, the new Events view includes three main sections:
My Events: On the left, navigate your upcoming and past events, or create a new event.
Upcoming Events: Your upcoming events appear in a list. Click the section names at the top to view all of your events, events you’re invited to, events you’ve saved or events you’re hosting.
Birthdays This Week and Events For You: On the right, see who’s birthday is coming up this week. To get a full list of upcoming birthdays, click See All.
The new “Events For Your” section is situated on right sidebar.
Specifically talking about the ‘Events For You’ section, it’s not just a rebranding of ‘Suggested Events‘, but it’s got more powerful and smarter than that. The new event recommendations will be based on Pages we like, groups and communities we’re a part of, day of the week, location and not just those our friends are attending.
