JioGlass: The Magic Spectacles of the Future!

Jio showcased its JioGlass mixed reality headset, which supports both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) content, at the recent India Mobile Congress 2023. The smart glasses will be launched in India soon. They were originally announced by the telecom giant at its annual general meeting (AGM) in 2020. Just like other AR glasses, JioGlass can display content on a large virtual screen, and users can easily switch between AR and VR modes.

At this year’s IMC 2023, the company gave a sneak peek of its upcoming JioGlass mixed reality wearable device before its release in the country. Jio has introduced two products that can display VR content: an affordable JioDive VR headset and the more expensive JioGlass.

Although Jio has not revealed the pricing for the JioGlass yet, it is expected to compete with products like AjnaXR Pro and AjnaXR SE, which are priced at Rs. 1,54,999 and Rs. 84,999, respectively. JioGlass was developed by a startup called Tesseract, which was acquired by the Indian tech conglomerate. The device is listed as “coming soon” on the official website and should be available in the coming months.

The upcoming JioGlass mixed reality device features dual full-HD displays with a resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels. These displays provide a 40-degree field-of-view, allowing you to enjoy a virtual 100-inch screen for watching movies or sports. To reduce eye strain, the glasses are certified by TÃœV Rheinland for low blue light emissions. Additionally, you have the option to use magnetic prescription lenses, which should be fitted by an optician, according to the Tesseract website.

JioGlass smart glasses come with a proximity sensor and a nine-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor. They are powered by an unspecified processor, boot up in just 5 seconds, and offer a 4-hour runtime in 3D mode thanks to their 4,000mAh battery.

These glasses are equipped with a USB Type-C port, enabling connections to smartphones running on iOS or Android with DisplayPort (DP) support, as well as to Windows or Mac computers. The device also features an integrated microphone for making voice calls on the headset.

To sum it up, the JioGlass is a fancy gadget shown at the India Mobile Congress 2023. It has two good-quality screens that make you feel like you’re watching a big 100-inch TV. They’re designed to be gentle on your eyes.

The JioGlass also has special sensors and a good battery that lasts for four hours when you’re using it for 3D stuff. You can connect it to your phone or computer using a special USB cable. It even has a microphone for making phone calls through the glasses.

In simple words, the JioGlass looks promising and could be used for fun and practical things when it becomes available in India.
