For many years ‘the rumored Apple’ car has been in the works and while most people believe it to be true, a recent development has made this story more realistic. Along with the previously filed patents by Apple, the company has recently patented a sunroof with specifications that shout- ‘The future is here!’ This sunroof patent has been approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Features of the rumored Apple Car Sunroof
According to a report by MotorTrend, the Apple patented sunroof comes with a variable opacity glass which means that users/drivers can electronically adjust the translucence or the amount of light that enters into the car. In simple words, users can create a foggy (opaque) or sunny (transparent) look as per their preference. This is similar to the Magic Sky roof technology of Mercedes Benz. Although, this tech was not integrated with an opening sunroof panel specifically.

The patent also claims that the sunroof will open or close along with the car’s side windows. A previous patent has disclosed that the side windows of the rumored Apple Car may be able to detect any cracks on them.
Speculations have been made that owners may be able to control this sunroof by Apple CarPlay or Siri through voice command. Some also claim that this car will compete with Elon Musk’s Tesla which manufactures electric cars.
Although Apple has neither claimed nor denied any of these ongoing rumors, this sunroof patent including the other patents in the past certainly creates a boiling curiosity among Apple fanatics.
