Android Users: How to add songs from Youtube Music to Snapchat

Snapchat has started rolling out a feature that allows users to share their favorite tunes from YouTube Music and directly to your Snapchat Stories. This feature was available on iOS since October 2021.

In 2022, sharing your favorite songs, podcasts and playlists to your social media platform is not new. Platforms like Spotify have allowed the feature of sharing music to Instagram and Snapchat stories way back. It is also notable that this feature first appeared in 2020 and to keep up with the competition, YouTube Music is also doing its part. The company is working on a feature that will enable users to share music on Instagram.

Snapchat has been rolling out a number of features in 2022. Snap users were enabled with the feature of realtime-location sharing from 15 minutes to a few hours with their friends. The company has also worked on an update that will allow users to change their usernames without losing any of their data. According to 9to5Google, the first sign that Snapchat users will be able to share music on Snapchat and Instagram showed up in November 2020. Now that it is here, follow these simple steps to start sharing songs on Snapchat with your friends on your Android or iOS devices:

  1. Open the YouTube Music app on your smartphone and select the song that you want to share.
  2. Tap on the three dots in the right corner and select the share option.
  3. After a list of applications appear on your screen, select Snapchat.
  4. After the app opens, click on the blue arrow to finally share the song.

You are all set to share melodious tunes to your friends on Snapchat from the YouTube Music application. While sharing, the name of the song, artist and the album art will be visible on your screen. You can edit your story according to your wish and send it as DMs too. The album art is a clickable thumbnail, when users tap on it, the YouTube Music app will open and the song will begin to play.
