Facebook is planning to change the name, as part of the company rebrand, as it’s the owner of WhatsApp, Instagram, and virtual reality brand oculus. The Verge reported that Mark Zuckerberg is preparing to talk about the name change in the coming company event. It has planned to name it with the focus on the metaverse, whereabout the primary vision is about the community and generators or digital commerce, coming set computing platforms like virtual and multiple reality while keeping in mind to give the users the sense of presence. For Zuckerberg, the name change isn’t a new idea, for him, the metaverse is the coming phase of major technological invention analogous to the invention of the internet or mobile phones. According to the Verge, the company focuses on rebuilding the metaverse as a foundation of a new growth strategy. Oculus products would be a crucial product in the metaverse, an approximately defined conception that involves people leading their social and professional lives and interacting with other people. Facebook is developing a social virtual reality platform called Horizon Worlds as well as a virtual reality meeting service called Horizon Workrooms. A rebrand could also serve to further separate the futuristic work Zuckerberg is concentrated on from the violent scrutiny Facebook is presently under for the way its social platform operates moment. In July, Zuckerberg told The Verge that, over the coming several times, “we will effectively transition from people seeing us as primarily being a social media company to being a metaverse company.” The company is fighting several nonsupervisory and administrative battles, including an attempt by the US competition controller to force a bifurcation of the business. Facebook was fined $5bn by the US Federal Trade Commission in 2019 for “deceiving” the users about its capability to keep particular information private, after a time-long disquisition into the Cambridge Analytica data breach, where a UK analysis establishment gathers millions of Facebook biographies of US voters.

People faced another issue in the Zuckerberg company, where Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram went offline for five hours after routine conservation went awry, dismembering all of Facebook’s services including its internal dispatches and physical security this month. Whistle-blower Frances Haugen, the former Facebook product manager, who left the company in May, told congress that for more than five hours Facebook wasn’t used to consolidate divides, destabilize the republic and make youthful girls and women feel bad about their bodies. On the other hand, some Facebook critics have argued that a piece of catchy new name news served as an accessible media to distract others from the deep troubles they’re facing and causing.

Roger Mc Namee, an early investor in the company who has come one of the company’s most oral critics, told Recode that as Facebook has faced a riffle of substantiation of reckless gesture and possible criminal violations, Facebook is desperate to change the subject. Though Facebook isn’t the only tech company to change the company`s name as its intentions expand, Google did change the company name to Alphabet in 2015 but as it is just that Facebook has been indicted more lately and also a piece of unforeseen news to change the name specifically been said that they are changing the subject just to get relieved of all the allegations. But the complicating matter is that, while Facebook has been heavily promoting the idea of the metaverse in recent weeks, it is still not a concept that is extensively understood. The term was chased firstly by sci-fi novelist Neal Stephenson to describe a virtual world people escape from the real world. Now it is being espoused by one of the world’s largest and most controversial companies — and it will have to explain why its virtual world is worth diving into.
