Just a few days ago, Satya Nadella was trending for his new plans. According to reports, Microsoft is in talks with the artificial intelligence bot’s creator OpenAI for a massive 10 billion dollar infusion. Sources say the proposal envisions Microsoft investing the amount over multiple years. The investment is likely to value OpenAI at about 29 billion dollars. (hoyoskitchen.com) ChatGPT was launched at the end of November and had picked up a million users in less than a week. OpenAI, the organization behind it, is co-founded by Elon Musk and Silicon Valley investor Sam Altman and makes money by charging developers to license its technology.

Reportedly, Microsoft will get a 75% share of OpenAI’s profits until it makes back the money on its investment, after which the company would assume a 49% stake in OpenAI.

Semafor reported Tuesday that the deal is part of a funding round with other investors involved that would value OpenAI at a whopping $29 billion.

ChapGPT is buzzing these days in the tech world. The tool is a natural language processing model, meaning it is designed to generate text that appears as though a human wrote it. The model has been used for everything from developing code to writing college essays.

In the market dominated by Google, it is said that ChatGPT might turn into threat, and it could help Microsoft to boost its efforts in web search.

Despite optimism over its potential, the project is burning through cash due to the overwhelming level of pressure on its servers arising from its virality. Five days after OpenAI released ChatGPT, Altman said that the chat research tool crossed 1 million users.

Microsoft last year unveiled plans to integrate image-generation software from OpenAI into its search engine Bing. A recent report said similar plans were underway for ChatGPT as Microsoft looks to take on market leader Google Search.

Infosys made a hidden investment in ChatGPT which is a product of artificial intelligence company OpenAI in 2015. Infosys Vishal Sikka had mentioned in a blog post in 2015.

“Our wish is that together the OpenAI team will do unfettered research in the most important, most relevant dimensions of AI, no matter how long it takes to get there, not limited to just identifying dancing cats in videos, but to creating ideas and inventions that amplify our humanity,”
