Navratri 2025 is finally here! It’s honestly me and my friend groups’ favorite festival. Oh the joy it brings to decide what we’re going to wear, how we mix and match our outfits, the late night Garba and Dandiya, in short the vibes are immaculate. This year, the Navratri calendar runs from 22nd September to 1st October, immediately followed by Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) on 2nd October. If you don’t know this yet, the 9 days are of Navratri is linked to a specific goddess and color, carrying deep cultural and spiritual meaning.

In this blog, I’m going to cover all the dates, with their colors and a few tips (using AI for outfit inspiration) to bring your A-game to the dance floor this year. As we grow older, we start understanding the stories behind the beliefs people have. Additionally, in this blog I’ll be covering what prompts you can ask an AI model each day, to understand the tradition even more, and that’ll make you feel proud and closer to your roots.

Here’s What I Did On Day 1

The color was white, so I was going to wear my mum’s white saree, but I did not know what accessories would go well with it. So I went to Google’s Gemini- Nano Banana, typed in the above prompt “Suggest a white embroidered saree with the accessories that would go with it for Navratri Day 1, keep it simple”. And when I hit generate, Nano Banana came up with exactly what I needed, pearls and the ghajra would definitely go so well with the white saree. Take a look.

A woman in a softly draped white embroidered organza saree and simple pearl jewelry (choker and bracelet) stands in a home setting with a small puja altar in the background, holding a decorative puja thali. She has her hair neatly tied back with jasmine flowers, creating a realistic and easily achievable traditional look for Day 1 according to Navratri calendar.
An elegant woman in a simple yet beautiful white embroidered organza saree with a subtle silver border, paired with a delicate pearl choker and bracelet, holding a puja thali. This quick and graceful look is perfect for Navratri Day 1 celebrations, embodying purity and tradition with minimal effort.

To personalize this more, you can upload the image of the outfit you have, your picture which is clear and ask nano banana to put together the outfit with makeup, jewelry ideas and whatever else you need.

Next, I wanted to learn more about significance of Day 1, so I went on ChatGPT to learn more about it and put in the prompt I’ve shared above.

Now, I know so much more about Maa Shailputri, her story and what the white color represents and why is it associated with her.
