Can you tell us a little bit about you and your background?

My name is Shaikh Fakruddin. I was born on February 6th, 1988 and hold a degree in Computer Science from VTU University. I began my professional journey in 2010 as a web developer in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. After working there for three years, I decided to relocate to Bangalore and continue my career as a Full Stack Developer. However, I always had a strong desire to create something of my own, which led me to establish Superior Codelabs in 2018. In the beginning, our team consisted of only three members, and our focus was on technology services and recruitment. We have received excellent feedback from our clients, and as a result, our business has grown rapidly through word-of-mouth referrals. We are proud to say that some of our initial international clients have remained loyal to us to this day.

How did this journey start?

I would like to share that I had not planned on starting a company initially. However, after receiving positive feedback for my work during my stint as a freelancer, I started getting referrals from satisfied clients. As the volume of work increased, I decided to establish Superior Codelabs to cater to a larger client base. To ensure high-quality service delivery, I hired a skilled team to work alongside me. Our aim was to provide top-notch services to our clients while expanding our business.

What is your vision for the future of this company, and how do you plan to achieve that vision?

In my opinion, Superior Codelabs vision for the future is essential for its growth and success. I believe that Superior Codelabs should strive to become a leader in the technology industry by providing innovative and cutting-edge solutions to our clients. We should continue to hire and retain top talent to expand our team’s capabilities and knowledge base.
Our focus should be on building long-term relationships with our clients by delivering high-quality services and providing value beyond their expectations. In the future, we should explore new technologies and invest in research and development to remain competitive and stay ahead of industry trends.
Furthermore, we should focus on sustainability by implementing environmentally friendly practices and giving back to the community through corporate social responsibility initiatives. These measures would allow us to create a positive impact and contribute to a better future for all.

What are some of the biggest challenges your company has faced in the past, and how have you overcome those challenges?

The biggest challenges faced by Superior Codelabs are increasing competition, changing technologies, and client expectations.
To overcome these challenges, we stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends. We invest in research and development to remain competitive and provide innovative solutions to clients. Additionally, we stay focused on building a strong team with diverse skills and expertise to adapt to changing technologies.
In terms of client expectations, we establish clear communication channels to ensure that clients are aware of what to expect from the services provided. we also set realistic timelines and budgets and be transparent in our dealings with clients.
Another significant challenge that we face is attracting and retaining top talent. This can be overcome by providing a conducive work environment, competitive compensation packages, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Overall, the key to overcoming challenges is to remain flexible and adaptable, continuously learn and evolve with the industry, and provide value to clients through exceptional service delivery.

How does your company stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology, and how do you incorporate those into your services?

In my opinion, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology is critical for technology companies to remain relevant and competitive.
As mentioned earlier we invest in research and development to stay updated on emerging technologies and trends.
And also we collaborate with industry partners, including other technology companies and research institutions, to gain access to cutting-edge technologies and insights.
We can provide continuous learning and training opportunities for their employees to keep their skills updated and ensure that they are equipped to work with new technologies.

How do you ensure that your company’s services are accessible and affordable for businesses of all sizes?

We office Flexible pricing models, such as hourly rates or project-based pricing, that allow clients to choose the most suitable pricing option based on their budget. Our prices are very competitive compared to other companies.

We do partnerships with other businesses, including cloud providers and software vendors, to provide cost-effective solutions to clients.

Can you share a success story or case study of a particularly challenging project your company has undertaken and how you successfully delivered on it?

We have many successful case studies out of all the recent ones I have added here.
Our team was tasked with creating a unique e-commerce website for Presidency University that would allow all their schools to sell books online. The project was highly customized, with specific requirements that deviated from the standard e-commerce model. Moreover, the timeline for completing the project was just 24 days, which included the testing phase. Our biggest challenge was to ensure that over 20,000 users could access the website seamlessly over a period of 3 days, with payments being processed without any issues. To overcome these hurdles, we put all our available resources to work, and our team even put in extra hours during the weekends. Through hard work and strategic planning, we were able to deliver the website within the given time frame while addressing all of our client’s requirements. When the website went live, there was zero downtime, and everything ran smoothly. However, we did encounter some problems with payments, which were beyond our control.

What do you think are the most important skills for someone in your position to have, and how do you cultivate those skills in yourself and your team?

Should have strong technical skills to understand and implement the latest technologies. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements is crucial, and individuals can cultivate these skills by taking courses, attending seminars, or participating in online forums and communities.
Communication skills, as it involves working with clients and team members from different backgrounds and levels of technical expertise. Good communication skills help individuals to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms that clients can understand. Cultivating communication skills can be achieved by participating in public speaking, attending workshops, and practising active listening.
Individuals need to have strong problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of issues and come up with effective solutions. To cultivate these skills, individuals can practice critical thinking, participate in hackathons or coding challenges, and seek feedback from colleagues.
Strong project management skills are essential to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Individuals can cultivate these skills by participating in project management training, using project management tools, and adopting best practices.

What do you see as the biggest opportunities for growth in the technology consulting industry in the coming years, and how is your company positioning itself to take advantage of those opportunities?

Digital transformation – As more businesses are moving towards digital transformation, there is a growing demand for companies that can help them adopt new technologies and optimize their operations. Companies that can provide end-to-end digital transformation services that align with the client’s business objectives are well-positioned to grow in this area.
Cloud computing: Cloud computing is becoming more prevalent as businesses shift towards remote work and require more scalable and flexible infrastructure. Companies that can provide cloud-based solutions and services that are secure, reliable, and cost-effective can take advantage of this growth area.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: As AI and machine learning continue to advance, there is growing demand for technology consulting services that can help businesses implement these technologies to drive innovation and improve operations. Persistence: Founders often face multiple setbacks and challenges throughout their journey. The ability to persist through these obstacles is a crucial characteristic which i have learnet over these years.
Adaptability: Markets and industries are constantly changing, and founders need to be adaptable to pivot their business strategy when necessary.
Time Management: Founders often have to wear multiple hats and juggle different responsibilities. Time management skills is a crucial for ensuring that i can effectively manage my time and prioritize tasks to maximize productivity.
Leadership: Need to be able to inspire and lead their team to achieve their business goals. Effective leadership skills are crucial for creating a positive company culture and driving the team towards success.
Financial Management: Need to have a strong understanding of financial management to ensure that they can effectively manage their company’s finances and make sound business decisions.

A piece of advice from you for the upcoming entrepreneurs

Embrace failure and use it as a learning opportunity. Failure is an inevitable part of entrepreneurship, but it’s also an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things
Always be open to learning and seeking feedback from others. Surround yourself with a diverse group of people who can offer different perspectives and insights. Be willing to listen to feedback, both positive and negative, and use it to make improvements and better your business. Finally, stay focused on your goals, and never lose sight of why you started your business in the first place. With hard work, determination, and a willingness to learn from your mistakes, you can achieve great success as an entrepreneur.
