India’s Drone Powerhouse
If you haven’t heard about Raphe mPhibr, let me introduce it to you. Raphe mPhibr isn’t a new player. The company started operating back in 2017. It worked silently, without making a fuss or a big deal for years, in the background. But everything changed after Operation Sindoor in April of 2025.
Raphe mPhibr played a very important role as it supplied unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to India when it was responding to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. They weren’t just flying in the sky, they were in full mode action. And that’s how they made a name for themselves that the defense could not ignore even if it wanted to.

Raphe mPhibr Raises $100 Million in Game-Changing Series B
As reported by Times of India, this Indian drone startup has just raised $100 million in Series B funding. The same making it the largest private capital raise for an Indian aerospace manufacturer. This has to be a big moment not just for for the startup, but for the entire Indian Defense tech.
Additionally, this $100 million raise is actually a part of $145 million raise, which brings the startup’s valuation to a whooping $900 million. This first round was led by General Catalyst. Along with General Catalyst, Think Investments and Amal Parikh have reportedly also joined this round.
What does Raphe mPhibr plan on doing with the amount? A lot actually.
As reported by Times Now News, the startup is planning to expand it’s manufacturing space in Noida from 70,000 to 650,000 square feet. This facility will then enable them to manufacture 2,000 larger drones and 4,000 smaller drones every year.
Made In India, For India
I have to admit that one of Raphe’s biggest flex has to be how indigenous their technology is. There was a time when they could not get good engines for the UAVs in the market. Guess what did they do? They built their own! They did not settle and they built their own internal combustion engine, that was specifically designed for drones. Just remarkable!
Not just engines, from software to electronics, Raphe builds everything for their drones on their own. Which gives them a better position in the market competition as they have control, flexibility, and even speed.
A Talent Magnet
This recent spotlight is attracting global Indian talent back home. Various engineers from Europe and US have come back to join the team. They are ready to contribute and bring some more shine. The CEO Vivek Mishra, believes that the youth are excited and want to work in this evolving space as they get to work on something that directly impacts the nation.
India’s Drone Market Is Booming
Great thing about India, is that it is always ready to lend a supporting hand. The Indian Government in fact is gearing up to spend up to $470 million on military drones in the next 2 years. And Raphe is in the center of this, getting all the attraction it needs. It’s important to remember that in the year 2022, Raphe was one of the 12 companies that was shortlisted PLI scheme of the government for drones.
To conclude, this isn’t just some headline about a startup funding. It’s in fact way more than that. It’s a sign that India is getting serious regarding self-reliant defense. As Neeraj Arora from General Catalyst put it:
Raphe’s work is “building for a future that is secure, sovereign, and sustainable.”
