WhatsApp Web: How to Get WhatsApp on the Web and Use it On your PC?

WhatsApp, one of the most popular applications in the world of instant messaging, has launched its web version that lets you use WhatsApp inside a desktop browser. Which means you can now simultaneously access your WhatsApp account on your phone, tablet, laptop and PC without a hack. Here’s how to get WhatsApp on your phone, tablet, laptop AND your PC, all at once.
You just have to follow these three simple steps:

  1. Firstly get the latest version of WhatsApp for android blackberry or windows phone that comes with the support for WhatsApp web and then look for the WhatsApp web option in the respective apps, the WhatsApp Web website tells you where to find the option inside each app.
  2. Then, open the WhatsApp Web website (https://web.whatsapp.com) on your PC in Google Chrome. (Remember WhatsApp web only works with Google chrome it doesn’t supports another browser) Once the WhatsApp Web page loads, you will see a QR code on the top left part of the screen. Now open WhatsApp on your mobile phone and select WhatsApp Web from the menu.
  3. Now align the QR code with your phone’s camera and, that’s it! within few seconds, you’ll see your recent WhatsApp conversations inside Chrome on the PC.

You can join any existing conversations (including groups) or initiate new ones. Features like delivery and read receipts are supported, and you can also share pictures as well as voice messages without needing to touch your phone.

Another important thing is WhatsApp Web uses your phone’s Internet connection to send and receive your messages, so your mobile should be connected to the Internet throughout, either by Wi-Fi or cellular data, this makes WhatsApp Web different from other messaging apps like Skype and Viber where every device has its own connection to the servers, and this might be considered as a drawback by many people.

Overall, WhatsApp Web gives you complete WhatsApp experience on the PC, as long as you have Google Chrome in it. Now we can easily enjoy those lovely WhatsApp forwards even while working instead of ignoring them, except of course the fact it doesn’t work with the iPhone. For  iPhone users, this is what WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum says, “for now, we will not be able to provide Web client to our iOS users due to Apple platform limitations.” which means there is still hope for them.
