Amid its various new updates and features in development, Twitter is also working to latch onto the rising interest in NFTs, which has seen digital artworks take on a new life of their own, generating billions in deals as users look to buy up the most exclusive pieces, which they can basically use as status symbols across social networks.

According to The Verge, Twitter was working on the feature in September, a software engineer from twitter-Mada Aflak showed the first regard of the feature in late September. The tweet’s videotape demonstrates how you can connect your crypto wallet from popular providers like Coinbase, Meta mask andCrypto.com and also choose one of your NFTs to use as your profile picture. It also said that the full collection of NFTs of yours will be stored in a tab on your profile, labeled Collectibles, and once you have named one of the NFTs from the collection, your profile picture will display an emblem that verifies that you have a real NFT. Though Twitter did expose the feature in September, so the detail does not come as much of a surprise.

Jane Manchon Wong, an engineer revealed that Twitter is working on a view that lets you get a

A close-up look at an NFT, in addition to the collectible tabs. But as for some people who do not know what is an NFT-It is a Non-Fungible Token i.e.; it is unique and cannot be replaced with anything different. Unlike bitcoins that can be replaced by any other bitcoin and have the same thing. NFTs are a part of the Ethereum blockchain, which is a cryptocurrency, like bitcoin. NFTs can sell any digital work and buy these, like drawings, painting, and music) or any one-of-a-kind thing. It`s like dealing with your work and making someone differently the proprietor of the work you did.

Lately, Mike Winkelmann — the digital artist known as Beeple, vented his series of NFTs for $69 million at Christie’s. And when you buy art, it lets you financially support artists you like, and that’s true with NFTs. Buying an NFT also generally gets you some introductory operation rights, like being suitable to post the image online or set it as your profile picture. Plus, of course, there are boasting rights that you enjoy the art, with a blockchain entry to back it up.

While some users are happy to hear this news, some are still irked by how Twitter is disregarding the more burning issues on the platform. Nathan Lawrence, an inventor tweeted that ‘We spent times soliciting Twitter for features to combat intimation. We eventually got Birdwatch, which is better than I anticipated, but so retired that I suspect utmost people do not know it exists. ‘Though  Twitter is adding new and intriguing features for its users but is lacking in working on some veritably important issues and delaying which is making the users leave the platform.
